its because i get nervous
that is the ultimate reason for my own failures
and its because of this debilitating disease

while running from the demon monster

sending him boo-hoo-ing back to its cave dwelling
or where ever the hell it slumbers during the day.

and those lies are the roots that grow in the forest
of your mind
that i trip over while running my fingers through your hair
as i lie next to you
nervous
that we might accidentally figure each other out
that each of us has that demon monster
slumbering within us
and our true selves are the ones running from it
and its this nervousness that i feel
because i like you
and THAT is saying alot.
