ive been granted these two eyes made of chestnut and ivory
to see that which exists in front of me
gifted with memory made from organic compounds
to store insight into that which might occur
endowed with a heart molded from love and agony
to process those two emotions into something that lies between
and its with these tools that i am able to foreshadow
the forthcoming

i will continue to strive to sharpen the focus of my eyes
and test the capacity of my memory
