Acrid

all those people, with their idle and sedentary ways, living across the bridges and hills of the green grasses and golden plains. all of them with their central vision and their non peripheral thoughts. none of them could have seen all that destruction heading their way. none of them realized the magnitude of their own mistakes. those bombs were dropped on a neighbor that they'd never met, and never would. their childrens children, however, would meet these refugees from a war started by their grandparents. they would share their homes and schools and streets with these people. the world was growing inwards, making fast friends with people that will soon become quicker enemies, in this time of life. in this age of the internet and this time of monsters, those decisions that we toss about like a dead cigarette can start fires more dangerous than we understand.
