so...
ive been posting on this "other" poetry site as of late, and things have been going well. many good reviews, many good returns. blah blah blah. BUT!!! as the locals that inhabit said new site seem not to have any sort of sense of humor, ive decided to play a game. ive created a new writer with the screen name of myrna. myrna is 63, she lives in new smyrna beach florida, and has just picked up the keyboard. ill be posting reviews to myrna's work as they come in to see how people deal with her writing styles. here is her first effort.
my name is myrna.
im 63 years young.
ha!
my hobbies are as follow:
1) driving fantastically slow
2) rummaging for good milk dates at the market.
3) walking prince valiant. ( my yorkie )
4) chatting up tom, the mailman.
5) writing poetry.
ive already done 4 of them today. some of them twice!! ha! so here goes number 5.
wishes made on the dreams of the young
a single bread placed on my tongue
a solemn tear floats on heavens stream
be it 25 years past in a single dream
the aged am i in the future me
strong and agile as i used to be
these lines i wear proud like those indian chiefs
torn and tattered like my husbands used briefs
63 years and here i stand
now if i could only find one good man
to lay me down and kiss me goodnight
63 years, but im still nice and tight
spelunk me you ravenous beast!
insatiable hunger quenching my feast.
older than you that i might be
still for pleasure do i ache longingly.
thanks for reading me.
happy writing,
myrna from new smyrna
